Sherp ATV and World
The United Nation's World Food Programme (WFP), in helping feed around 86.7 million people in 83 countries every year, is the world's leading humanitarian organization in the fight against hunger, providing food aid in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.
Sherp ATV gives the WFP a more economical, quicker alternative to helicopter and airlift operations. In the aftermath of Cyclone Idai, which devastated Mozambique, Sherp ATV delivered 26 metric tons of food over a 48-hour period, crossing through rivers, swamps, and rough terrain, to those in need in the town of Buzi, covering over 60 kilometers in each trip. With two Sherp ATVs now permanently kept onsite in Southern Africa, the WFP has a potent tool for helping people in the region when the next disaster hits.
