Nordisk Sikkerhet participates in factory acceptance testing of three radiation portal monitors
Published: 3 June 2016
On 25 May 2016 experts from Nordisk Sikkerhet, Atomflot, and YAFI – Nuclear Physics Research Scientific Engineering Center met in St. Petersburg, Russia. During this visit the parties conducted factory acceptance tests of three radiation portal monitors which have been constructed for the ongoing project with FUSE Atomflot.
The pedestrian, vehicle, and railroad portal monitors will be set up at the entrance to Atomflot facilities in Murmansk, Russia. These portal monitors will serve to hinder the unauthorized movement of radioactive materials into and out of the Atomflot site. This is part of an ongoing project administered by Nordisk Sikkerhet and funded under the Norwegian government action plan for nuclear activities and the environment in northern areas.
