Daria Plyshevskaya represented Nordisk Sikkerhet AS at the International Exhibition and Conference «AtomEco-2015», held from November 9th to 11th in Moscow, Russia.
This year was the culmination of the Russian Federal Target Program “"Ensuring nuclear and radiation safety for 2008 and for the period until 2015". The conference presented the results of this program and unaddressed “legacy” issues from earlier nuclear activity. A variety of topics were covered, including the effects of nuclear legacy issues on national security, methods for eliminating nuclear legacy threats, environmental protection, and challenges faced in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
Conference participants included representatives of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, representatives of international organizations, scientific and technical experts, additional state and regional representatives, and members of the private business community with an involvement in the nuclear industry.
Nordisk Sikkerhet participated in AtomEco with the goal to review specific legacy issues in northwestern Russia which remain of concern to the Norwegian government and could be addressed through the Norwegian government Action Plan for Nuclear Activities and the Environment in Northern Areas.
